The Narrative of
Place
Creating strategic concepts behind distinctive hospitality developments.
With an eclectic background spanning fashion, film, and interior architecture, I bring a unique cross-disciplinary perspective to every project. My approach uncovers authentic stories within locations and reconnects them in unexpected ways to create compelling concepts with genuine commercial value.
With 20+ years of experience spanning multiple design disciplines, I run my own independent practice specializing in research-based narratives that transform ordinary spaces into memorable destinations. My hospitality focus began with my first major project while at SHH Architects—the Barbican Arts Centre Foodhall and Restaurant—which won multiple design awards and remains relevant over a decade later.
Today, I selectively consult with firms like Forward Associates on high-profile projects including the new Everton Stadium and Wembley Arena, while also developing concepts for boutique hotels and private members clubs. My background combines creative thinking across different sectors with global experiences that inform my strategic approach, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to hospitality concept development.
I'm currently focused on partnering with developers and operators who recognize that distinctive concepts drive commercial success and create lasting value. I'm always seeking opportunities and sites where The Narrative of Place methodology could create exceptional results. Beyond client projects, I actively develop speculative hospitality concepts to present to potential development partners—constantly exploring how strategic narratives can transform underutilised spaces into distinctive destinations.
